Request an interview

Supporter and federated membership are for associations. A federated association makes a bigger commitment: it votes in the Assembly and can use the logo. A supporter association accompanies the network with a voice, but without a vote.

The membership process

Four steps for federated and supporter associations

Step 1

Pre-registration

Fill in the pre-registration form.
Request the interview.
Attach the approved statutes, the tax ID (CIF), a copy of the registration in the Registry of Associations and a short project of the association (annual activity plan and links to the website and social media, if any).

Step 2

Interview

Before the interview, associations wishing to join submit the copy of the minutes of their internal assembly approving membership of FERM (valid for 3 months).
Joint review of the documents and answers to any questions.
Assessment of alignment with the Code of Ethics.

Step 3

Decision

Acceptance: the application is presented at the next General Assembly.
In the process of joining: a plan with orientation groups on risk reduction and good practice (for 2 representatives; more can join for an extra contribution), legal advice service and an introductory weekend workshop (two editions a year: Catalonia and Madrid).
End of the process: the Federation or the association may decide not to continue.

Step 4

Formalisation

Membership document signed by the association and the Presidency of the Federation.
Commitment to comply with the Statutes and the Internal Regulations.
Commitment to comply with the Code of Ethics.

Supporter associations: the process is simpler. The interview assesses how well the association aligns with the Code of Ethics. If accepted, it is registered as a supporter association, its membership is announced at the next General Assembly and it starts receiving the Federation's information. If there are significant differences with the principles of the Code, membership may not be accepted.
